>> and j. r., this child is only 4 years old >> reporter: the fire crews were made on the scene. if the red cross is also here assisting those who are displaced they tell me that about 60 people are without a home. let me show you the video. what have dozens residents were boggled outside of this structure. with help of the red cross however, there are three people that wor did not make it. some residents, and a firefighter are being treated for smoke inhalation. this resident said that it was very scary. >> i saw a fire. and when

homes following a three alarm fire in san francisco. three buildings at 23rd and capp streets in the mission district were heavily damaged in yesterday's fire. crews say it started just after 9-30 in the morning. it took more than 100 firefighters to put the flames out. the fire department says it has narrowed down where the fire started. at this point, investigators say the fire does not look suspicious. but the cause is still under investigation. a community is remembering a 22-year old man shot and killed by walnut creek police earlier this week. friends and family came out for a vigil held last night for anthony banta. kron four's philippe djegal was there. he spoke to family and friends still in disbelief. devastated by the loss just before the start of a new year. >> banta's grandfather, marvin, driving in from up north to memorialize his grandson. 22-year-old anthony banta. while at the same time wondering how this could be. he says banta was not a violent person. banta was a stylist at the hair salon where the vigil was held. the owners say they've shed a lot of tears since the shooting. >> it to th are to strive to get for it. it is a difficult process. it is

just -- a process of trying to get through this. he says that he was not a violent person. >> he and his brother were co captains of the wrestling team at high-school. they were role models and he had his head on the street. do not kn how this could have happened, he had his head on-stree straight >> he was extremely gentle, kind. >> he is irreplaceable. you just don't find people like that. >> thursday morning, they received a 911 call early thursday morning, police responded to a 9-11 call at the diablo pointe appartments in walnut creek. when they arrived, police say they were forced to shoot banta. beyond that. no explaination as to why officers had to open fire. >> i do not know what

happened that night. >> reporter: in a written statement, the banta family says quote our thoughts and prayers are with the peace officers who pulled their triggers and their families. may they find peace and god bless. in walnut creek, philippe djegal, kron four news. another arrest has been made in connection to a deadly home invasion that took place in monte sereno. you are looking at video from sky 7 hd that shows the scene of the crime. sacramento police arrested de-angelo austin on suspicion of murder yesterday. he is the fourth person arrested in connection with the murder of 66 year old silicon valley venture capitolist - ravee kumra. the break in also left kumra's wife injured. investigators working the case say the act was probably not a random one. now detectives are focusing on possible connections a suspect or suspects may have had to the victim's house.

kron 4 7 day around the bay there is a slight chance if you are possibly going to see that on monday. authorities say a body pulled from the water near oakland's jack london square is that of a man in his 60s. the body was spotted by people near the marina around 9 yesterday morning. police say the people who found the body helped pull it from the water. police have only identified the body as that of a white man in his 60s. detectives are working with the coroner's office to determine if the man's death was a homicide. authorities have released the names of a father and son who died after they were swept into the sea while fishing near the golden gate bridge 37-year-old juan escamillo- rojas and nine-year-old juan escamillo-monroy died after waves pulled them into the water friday night. the father and son were fishing near the marin headlands. a fireboat crew pulled the two from the water, but they were both pronounced dead.

another adult was also swept into the ocean, but survived. a women's dog is dead after a man robbed her and then threw her dog into the street in san francisco's tenderloin district. police say the woman pulled over at leavenworth street near golden gate avenue around 5 p-m to use her cellphone and was approached by a suspect who demanded money. police say the suspect grabbed the victim's wallet and the dog from the car, throwing the dog into the street before fleeing on foot. police are searching for the suspect, whose description was vague. in sports. number one ranked stanford women haven't lost at maples pavilion since the bush administration in 2007. but all that's changed saturday. stanford's impressive 82- game home winning streak in women's basketball has come to a sudden halt. second-ranked u-conn turned the showdown into a mismatch - with a 61-35 victory. the huskies took control early and never looked back. it's the worst cardinal home loss in the tara vanderbuilt era. this is the cardinal's

herself in thursday's crime. he says she also professed hatred toward muslims and hindus. witnesses to the death say they saw a woman pacing the elevated platform and muttering to herself just before she pushed her victim. this was the second time this month someone was shoved to their death in front of a train. 8: 22 hey, look! a shooting star!

night. the chance of showers returns on thursday. authorities say a body pulled from the water near oakland's jack london square is that of a man in his 60s. the body was spotted by people near the marina around 9 yesterday morning. police say the people who found the body helped pull it from the water. police have only identified the body as that of a white man in his 60s. detectives are working with the coroner's office to determine if the man's death was a homicide. authorities have released the names of a father and son who died after they were swept into the sea while fishing near the golden gate bridge 37-year-old juan escamillo- rojas and nine-year-old juan carlos escamillo-monroy died after waves pulled them into the water friday night. the father and son were fishing near the marin headlands. a fireboat crew pulled the two from the water, but they were both pronounced dead. another adult was also swept into the ocean, but survived. a women's dog is dead

after a man robbed her and then threw her dog into the street in san francisco's tenderloin district. police say the woman pulled over in the first block of leavenworth street around 5 p-m to use her cellphone and was approached by a suspect who demanded money. police say the suspect grabbed the victim's wallet and the dog from the car, throwing the dog into the street before fleeing on foot. police are searching for the suspect, who was only described as a black man in his 30s. in sports. number one ranked stanford women haven't lost at maples pavilion since the bush administration in 2007. but all that's changed saturday. stanford's impressive 82- game home winning streak in women's basketball has come to a sudden halt. second-ranked u-conn turned the showdown into a mismatch - with a 61-35 victory. the huskies took control early and never looked back. it's the worst cardinal home loss in the tara vanderbuilt era. this is the cardinal's final game before opening the pac-12 conference next weekend in the rocky mountains. we're waiting to see if
